The older part of London's Highgate Cemetery is the western section.
It is heavily overgrown with trees and brush and many of
the monuments show their years of exposure to the elements. Found in this section are grave markers incorporating various animals
including a lion, a dog, and a horse, as well as angels and other symbols.

The eastern section
of Highgate Cemetery, although less old, also contains a variety of unusual monuments. Most notably, there
is a grand piano grave marker that, unfortunately, has been vandalized destroying its original open top. Also found here is the grave
of Karl Marx.
